Geelong spearhead Tom Hawkins has been voted into Adelaide’s Fan Fantasy side to take on his own club’s team this weekend.

Hawkins edged out St Kilda youngster Jack Billings and Gold Coast forward Tom Lynch, winning the 19th Man’s approval to replace Bomber Joe Daniher in the Fantasy Crows’ forward line.

The 25-year-old Cat has averaged three goals a game so far this season and is ranked second in the AFL for contested marks.

Nathan Bock was not named for the Suns for Gold Coast’s match against North Melbourne on Sunday. Regardless, Crows fans were not in favour of bringing in the veteran as a Fantasy cash cow.

Gary Ablett once again won the vote to captain our side for this weekend’s clash with the Cats. The result was much closer than previous weeks, with Patrick Dangerfield’s recent form dividing Crows fans at the Fantasy selection table.

Port Adelaide’s decision to axe Sam Gray forced a late change to our Fantasy strategy, with popular downgrade target Mitch Hallahan traded into the side as a worthy replacement.

Our other cash cows should surpass their break evens this week and continue building our Fantasy salary cap.

We must lock away a win this week against the struggling Cats given the Fantasy chaos that often ensues once the byes begin to kick in. Our tendency to back our own players is likely hurt us next week when Adelaide has the bye, but from thereafter our side looks strong.
