James Podsiadly played his best game as a Crow against Sydney on Saturday.

Podsiadly provided a strong target in Adelaide’s forward half.

The Geelong premiership player collected a career-high 23 possessions, including 12 contested. He also took a team-high nine marks and generated eight inside 50ms – ranked equal-second in the AFL in Round Three. Podsiadly kicked a goal and had a hand in two other Crows scores. He also won five hard-ball gets, equal with teammate Patrick Dangerfield.

For the second week in a row, Richard Douglas topped Adelaide’s possession count. Douglas collected 25 disposals (10 contested), five inside 50ms, four clearances and a goal.

Matthew Jaensch continued his individually brilliant start to the season. Jaensch amassed another 23 possessions (at 91.3 per cent efficiency), eight marks, five inside 50ms and a long, running goal. He also hauled in two contested marks.

Dangerfield battled hard to win 23 touches (11 contested). The joint –vice-captain also had five clearances, five inside 50ms and 1.1 Matthew Wright won a team-high nine clearances to go with 21 disposals (12 contested) and five tackles. Jared Petrenko led the way in tackles (nine) ahead of Rory Sloane (seven).

Sam Jacobs won 35 hit-outs and collected 17 possessions and seven marks to be the dominant ruckman on the ground. He also had three score assists – more than any other Crow.

Mitch Grigg (two) was the only Crow to kick multiple goals against the Swans. Adelaide’s scoring accuracy last round was 39.1 per cent – the worst of any team in Round Three. Sydney’s was the best at 80.8 per cent.
