Adelaide Crows members and players will be at the forefront of the Club’s decision making in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, chief executive Andrew Fagan has said.

Speaking on Adelaide radio on Saturday morning, Fagan conceded the “complexity and rapidly changing” situation made it difficult to lock down any immediate promises to fans.

“These are unprecedented times,” Fagan said.

“It’s complex and it’s moving rapidly as a situation… that’s been one of the more difficult challenges, whatever we think we know at one point in time, within an hour or two it could have changed.

“Even yesterday (Friday) in our discussions with the AFL, it moved three our four times over the course of half a day.

“We’re all still trying to take stock and there are a bunch of questions unanswered.”

Many Adelaide members have questioned if they will be compensated for matches missed due to the Federal Government’s request that all events with more than 500 people be cancelled.

Fagan has pleaded with fans to give the AFL and the Club time to create an adequate proposal that appeases as many members as possible.

“The question is absolutely fair enough, but it might take us a while to come up with a solution,” Fagan said.

“We’re getting lots of feedback already and that adds complexity.

“On top of all that we have different types of memberships : three-game memberships who it may only affect the first few weeks and they can get their games in the back end… to 11-game members whose seats are impacted immediately.

“We need time to work through the complexity of the situation, but we’re doing so with members at the forefront of our mind.

“This is as complex as it gets.”

Adelaide’s Round One match against Sydney will be played behind closed doors next week at Adelaide Oval at 4.05pm ACDT.

The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports, Kayo and Channel 7.

Fans can also follow the action on the AFC website and Crows social media accounts.
