Scans have confirmed that Crows AFLW winger Deni Varnhagen has escaped serious injury to her left knee.
Varnhagen suffered the knee injury in the first quarter of Saturday’s trial match against Fremantle in Mandurah after a Dockers player fell across her legs in a contest.
Crows General Manager Football Administration Phil Harper said that while she doesn’t have ligament damage, Varnhagen still requires surgery.
“The good news is that all Deni’s knee ligaments are intact, but she has some significant cartilage damage that will require arthroscope surgery on Wednesday morning,” Harper said.
“Deni could be playing again in three to six weeks.”
On Saturday, the Crows had a win in their final trial match of the pre-season ahead of their Round One clash with Brisbane on Saturday, February 8.
