Forward Tom Lynch will have minor foot surgery next week.
Lynch was a late withdrawal from the Adelaide team to play Melbourne, and will be unavailable for selection for the Club’s last game of the season against West Coast.
Coach Brenton Sanderson said Lynch would have surgery tohelp alleviate a “nasty bursa” in his foot.
“Lynchy’s been having pain-killing injections for the pastfew weeks,” Sanderson said.
“He’s got a really unusual running gait, he really stompsand it puts pressure through his foot.
“Tom flew to Melbourne on Thursday and after consultationwith a specialist, it was decided the best course of action for Tom and thefooty club was to put him in for surgery now. He’ll miss about eight weeks ofrunning, which means we get him back at the start of the pre-season.”
The athletic 22-year-old has been a revelation in attack this season, kicking 33 goals from 17 games to top the Crows’ goalkicking leading into Saturday’s clash with the Demons.
