Our Facebook fans responded with pride and passion after being asked to share their first Crows memories and the reason they became supporters.

The Adelaide Football Club has become a pivotal part of the lives of thousands of football followers across our first 25 seasons in the AFL.

And the strong and emotional family connections shaped by supporting the Crows were a common theme through nearly 1000 fan Facebook responses.

It seems Tony Modra also had a fair bit of influence on the choice of team, as did the first game back in March 1991 and the two premierships in 1997-98.

We’ve picked out a few of our favourites and you can also check out the Facebook post below.

Becca Evans: Sitting on the aluminum bench seats with dad, drinking my Crows milk and screaming WEEEEEEEEED

Ash Erdmann: Tony Modra. That's it. That's my first memory

Mal Wright: My greatest memory of the Crows was due to my Mother. She became an avid Crows fan. But at the time of their first ever grand final win, Mum was dying of cancer in the Royal Adelaide hospital. She had been more or less unconscious for two days and I had sat by her side the whole time. When the game ended, all the nursing staff and visitors were cheering loudly. Outside car horns were honking. Mum turned to me and whispered "What's all that noise?" I told her the Crows had just won the grand final. 'Oh that’s wonderful' she said. They were her last words.

Jasmine Pearson: When I was about 6 I broke my arm and to my surprise Matthew Liptak was my surgeon, I remember going under happy gas as he and my father were having a good ol' chat. Ever since then football and the crows have brought me and my daddy super close!!

Briony Monahan: Hey guys, It's a family tradition. My dear old dad was a crows supporter, bless his soul and my mum too! We had lots of fun family trips to the games and then around the telly watching the replays! We now look forward to every game and tip the crows every week. Sometimes we're rewarded, sometimes shattered! But when footy season comes around its go the crows!!

Chris Camp: Was definitely the trial match against Essendon when so many people turned up and you could see so many cars all the way down West Lakes Boulevard. I was a Hawthorn supporter when it was the VFL but was so excited when we got our own team (after much drama and turmoil) that I definitely had to support a team from South Australia, to take on the Victorian sides and other interstate sides.

Tammy Spencer: Two words: Tony Modra. I'm a born and bred Victorian. Mum's an Essendon supporter and Dad's a Lions supporter, but I've been a true blue Crow since I first laid eyes on Godra himself! I'm constantly asked why I support the Crows.

Terry Watts: Earliest memory - prelim final 1993. Arrived in Adelaide from the UK in 1992. We were hooked by the end of season 1993 and have been season ticket holders since 1994. I always say I would have emigrated 10 years earlier if only I'd known about Aussie Rules!

Vera Vardy: Because my son was recruited by crows Peter Vardy

Nic Klar: Going to the very first game ever with my late father - a trial against Essendon at Footy Park. We followed different SANFL teams but at least now had one team to jointly support.

What's your first memory of the Crows? And why did you become a Crows supporter? As we approach our 25th season celebration game, we'd love to know!Post away ...
