Adelaide’s guernsey was created in a rush at the end of 1990 but the original design has now lasted 25 seasons.
Interim board member Ed Betro led the guernsey development team when the Adelaide Football Club was formed late in 1990 but despite the production urgency, their legacy is an iconic AFL guernsey.
Across the past 25 years there have been changes to the collars, numbers, fabric, manufacturer template, fit and the shape of the horizontal red, gold and blue stripes and hoops.
For the first five seasons, the original style was the only guernsey worn by the Crows in games
Then, in 1996, the Crows experimented with a new guernsey for the pre-season competition.
It was not until the 1999 season that Adelaide developed its first ‘away’ guernsey and then in 2006 a red ‘clash’ guernsey was introduced.
Next season, full hoops will return to the BLK produced home guernsey for the first time since 2005.
CROWS GUERNSEY TIMELINE
