West Coast forward Mark LeCras has been charged with striking by the AFL’s Match Review Panel, but is free to confront the Crows this weekend.

LeCras was booked for an incident involving Neville Jetta in the second term of the Eagles’ clash with Melbourne at TIO Stadium.

LeCras, who is second in West Coast’s goalkicking this season with 24 majors, was deemed to have made intentional contact of low impact to the body, drawing an initial $1,500 sanction from the Match Review Panel.

With no bad record and an early plea, LeCras can accept a $1,000 and escape any suspension.

The 28-year-old has played every game for West Coast this season, averaging 18 possessions and two goals per match.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Melbourne Football Club, it was the view of the panel the incident should be classified as intentional conduct with low impact to the body. This offence was classified as a $1500 sanction. The player has no applicable bad record. An early plea can reduce the penalty to a $1000 sanction.
