Cam Ellis-Yolmen and Ricky Henderson have been called upon to replace unavailable pair Rory Sloane and Brodie Smith for Friday night’s sold-out clash with West Coast.
Smith, 24, has been ruled out after sustaining a concussion during Adelaide’s Showdown win.
General Manager of High Performance Brett Burton said Smith would be assessed again next week.
“Brodie received a head knock in last weekend’s game and, unfortunately, hasn’t recovered in time to be available for selection this round,” Burton said.
“He will be monitored over the weekend and put through the usual concussion protocols next week before a decision on his availability is made.”
Like Smith, Sloane will miss his first game of the season. The 2013 Crows Club champion accepted a one-match suspension for rough conduct against Port midfielder Brad Ebert on Saturday night.
Ellis-Yolmen, 23, will make just his second AFL appearance of the season. The big-bodied onballer was unlucky to be squeezed out of the senior team after kicking two goals from 18 possessions in Adelaide’s emphatic Round 13 win over the Brisbane Lions.
Henderson, who has played eight AFL games this season, returns for his first match at senior level in a month. The long-kicking wingman/half-back kicked three goals in his SANFL return from an Achilles complaint a fortnight ago. He was withdrawn from the Club’s clash with West Adelaide in Berri on the weekend following the injury to Smith.
Ruckman Reilly O’Brien, forward Jono Beech and defender Jake Kelly are the emergencies.
Recruit Paul Seedsman won’t play at any level this weekend as he continues his recovery from a nasty corked buttock suffered against the Lions.
Friday night’s match at Adelaide Oval will have a significant bearing on the order of the final eight.
Since the mid-season bye, the Crows and Eagles are the two form teams of the competition.

Adelaide’s SANFL team will play South Adelaide in a finals dress rehearsal at Noarlunga from 2:10pm on Saturday. Ticketed Crows members receive free entry to the Club’s minor-round SANFL matches upon presentation of their 2016 membership cards.
