Jake Lever’s first AFL goal is among the contenders for the Goal of the Year for Round 21.
Lever danced his way past two Dockers defenders at Domain Stadium on Sunday to slot his maiden major in his 32nd senior match.
The young backman’s eyes lit up when he gained possession just outside the 50m arc midway through the second term. He sidestepped his way past two charging Freo opponents, before straightening up and slotting a beautiful goal from about 45 metres out.

Lever becomes the sixth Crow to be nominated for the Goal of the Year title this season, and is also Adelaide’s third nominee from the past three rounds.
Brodie Smith’s stunning goal against Brisbane was narrowly beaten in last week’s Goal of the Year poll.
Reigning winner Eddie Betts was nominated twice in Round 10 and again in Round 19, winning both weekly votes. He’s currently the only Crow in the running for the major prize.
Young forward Mitch McGovern earned his first nomination alongside Betts in Round 19. Tom Lynch (Round Four) and Taylor Walker (Round Two) were also nominated earlier in the season, but all three Crows were unable to progress into the main draw.

Fans can win a weekly cash prize of $200 just by voting for their favourite goal and go into the running for a $5,000 major prize at the end of the season, thanks to Coates Hire.
Voting opens at 12pm (EST) each round the day after the last game, and closes the night before commencement of the next round at 11.59pm (EST).
