Midfielder Curtly Hampton is set for a stint on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
Hampton limped from the ground in the third quarter of Adelaide’s win over the Brisbane Lions on Saturday night, and took no further part in the game.
The 24-year-old has been ruled out of this week’s Indigenous Round clash with Fremantle.
Crows General Manager of High Performance Matt Hass said the Club would have a more definitive timeframe for Hampton’s return in the coming days.
“Unfortunately for Curtly, it’s a high ankle sprain,” Hass said.
“We’ll collect a little bit more information this week, but it’s safe to say he’ll miss a period of time.”
All Australian defender Brodie Smith also finished the game against the Lions on the interchange bench.
Hass said Smith had experienced hamstring tightness and would need to prove his fitness at training.
“It was fairly precautionary and he’s feeling quite good early this week,” Hass said.
“He’ll need to train with the group on Wednesday and pass a fitness test later in the week.”
Half-forward Riley Knight is on track to return from a corked glute.
Knight sustained the injury in Adelaide’s Round Seven loss to North Melbourne.
“He (Knight) trained well yesterday (Monday) and will train with the team on Wednesday,” Hass said.
Forward Troy Menzel will also face a fitness test.
Menzel was unavailable for selection last weekend after suffering a corked quad against Melbourne.
“Troy is still experiencing some soreness in his quad from that fairly significant quad cork,” Hass said.
“Our aim early this week has just been to try and get him up and going, and he’ll be assessed for this week.”
In positive news, wingman Paul Seedsman is nearing a comeback from a long-term groin injury.
Seedsman is yet to play a game at any level this year, but is expected to return around the ‘bye’.
“He (Seedsman) continues to make some significant strides in his rehab from his groin injury,” Hass said.
“He’s started to train in a modified setting with the main group and we expect him to be back in the next few weeks.”
Goalkicker Mitch McGovern (hamstring) is also working towards a mid-season return.
The Crows reported no new injuries at SANFL level last weekend.
Key pair Alex Keath and Kyle Cheney both made successful returns from hamstring injuries in the Club’s State League win over West Adelaide.
