Hugh Greenwood had plenty of reasons to smile after Adelaide’s 80-point win over Brisbane at The Gabba on Saturday night.
The Tasmanian played his first AFL game, kicked an AFL goal (three of them, in fact) and celebrated his maiden AFL win with a Gatorade shower, with his family there to witness every moment live in Queensland’s capital.
But there was something else Greenwood ticked off the bucket list – playing alongside the likes of Crows captain Taylor Walker, contested beast Rory Sloane and brilliant small forward Eddie Betts.
“I came up to Eddie after the game and I said ‘man, I’ve just ticked off something on the bucket list’ to play alongside those guys,” Greenwood told AFC Media post-game.
“I can tell all my kids, my grandkids and they’ll be telling their friends one day that I played footy with Sloaney and Eddie and Tex and these guys and played for the Crows so it’s something as a family you can never take away from us.”
Man... I'm still pinching myself. So blessed and so thankful. Hands down the best day of my life! https://t.co/7PEYFqv3uK
