LeBron James or Michael Jordan?
It’s a debate getting louder than ever with ‘The King’, en route to his seventh straight NBA Finals, averaging 34.4 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game in his finest playoff campaign to date.
Crows forward Josh Jenkins stirred up controversy on a local Adelaide radio station on Wednesday afternoon when he described LeBron as a ‘better all-around basketball player than Michael Jordan’. The aftermath came on Twitter, with fans of the Chicago Bulls legend letting the talented junior basketballer know their thoughts.
While discussing sledging on afc.com.au’s regular The Pods Cast, released every game day of Crows matches at Adelaide Oval, Jenkins admitted while he doesn’t get involved in slinging verbal barbs too often, he couldn’t help but engage with an online fan.
“I don’t get too involved but I see on the run sheet I had a bit of a zinger on Twitter this week. I’m not quick witted so I need time,” Jenkins said.
“I was asked what I thought about LeBron. I didn’t specifically say LeBron James was better than Michael Jordan, I just said I thought he was a better all-around basketball player and I got crushed on Twitter for that.
“Someone said leave the basketballing to the basketballers, little did he know I’ve played a fair bit of basketball so I said I’ll play you one-on-one for your house.
“In fairness, he offered to play me, so we’ll have to set it up.”
