A host of Crows will be eager to impress in Adelaide’s final SANFL trial against Norwood at Coopers Stadium on Friday night.
First-year draftee Myles Poholke resumes after serving as the non-playing AFL emergency last weekend. Poholke, 18, starred in Adelaide’s opening SANFL trial against Sturt three weeks ago.
Fellow first-year players Jordan Gallucci, Elliott Himmelberg and Matthew Signorello will all get another taste of League football against the Redlegs ahead of next Sunday's SANFL season-opener against Sturt.
Midfielder Scott Thompson has been named as he continues his recovery from a shoulder complaint.
State League Club Champion Jono Beech will also get another run after playing three quarters in last week's trial against Woodville-West Torrens in his return from a calf injury.
Senior Coach Don Pyke revealed on Friday morning that AFL emergency Jake Lever wouldn't travel to Melbourne and instead would face the Redlegs on Friday night.
Hugh Greenwood will lead the team with co-captain Alex Keath sidelined due to a hamstring injury.
Dean Gore, Paul Hunter, Harry Dear, Reilly O’Brien and Ben Jarman are the remaining AFL-listed players selected in the squad.
Emergencies not required for Saturday’s AFL clash could yet be added to the SANFL squad on game day. Lever will play, while forward Troy Menzel and onballer Harrison Wigg are Adelaide’s senior emergencies for the game against Hawthorn at the MCG.
Tough onballer Brad Crouch won’t play. The 23-year-old has rejoined the main training group and is targeting next Sunday’s clash with the Double Blues for his return from a hamstring injury.
Development player Matthew Leigh, who played eight games for the SANFL Crows last season, has been named for his first game of the year.
Former Central District wingman Joey Brown, Gaza premiership player John Boxer and RMFL Imperials backman Louis De Michele have also been included for their maiden match from Adelaide’s SANFL development list.
Friday night’s match begins at the updated time of 7.15pm at Coopers Stadium. Entry is free to the public.
