Crows forward Eddie Betts has been ruled out of Sunday’s Round 19 match after being admitted to hospital last night.
Betts, 30, required an operation to remove his appendix and is recovering well.
Crows senior medical officer Dr Marc Cesana said Betts was in good spirits following the procedure.
“Eddie fell unwell on Sunday evening and was sent to hospital,” Dr Cesana said.
“He will not play this weekend as he recovers from surgery and the Club will continue to monitor his health before a decision is made on his availability.”
The Club asks that the privacy of the Betts family be respected at this time.
An update on his condition where appropriate and available.
The two-time All Australian and Crows leading goalkicker hasn't missed a game since joining the Club ahead of the 2014 season.
Friday night's clash with Geelong was his 100th conseuctive AFL match.
