The Crows have finished the AFLW season with three-consecutive Rising Star nominations.

Utility Anne Hatchard received the nod against Collingwood on Sunday, joining teammates Sarah Allan and Eloise Jones in being nominated for the award.

Only Grand Finalists the Western Bulldogs (five) have produced more Rising Star nominees than Adelaide this season.

More often used as a defender, Hatchard held down a key position in attack on the weekend.

The 20-year-old kicked her first AFLW goal and finished with three score involvements from her seven disposals in Adelaide’s season-ending loss to the Magpies at Olympic Park.

A former basketballer with the Adelaide Lightning, the competitive Hatchard was part of the Crows’ premiership-winning team in 2017.

From the Morphettville Park Football Club, she was recruited with pick No.87 in the inaugural draft and has played a total of 11 AFLW games.

Hatchard was nominated for the Rising Star alongside Western Bulldogs’ Naomi Ferres.

Each of the 14 nominees throughout the season (two per week) will be awarded $500 prize money from NAB to acknowledge their great achievement.

In addition, NAB will continue to support the development of future footy stars by awarding junior clubs of each nominee with a NAB Club Recognition Award pack of practical and financial resources, valued at over $2,500.

The overall NAB AFL Women’s Rising Star winner will be awarded $20,000 from NAB and a private banker to assist with securing their financial future.

The winner will be announced at the AFLW Awards in Melbourne on March 27

To qualify for the award, players must be under 21 years of age as of the 1st of January 2018 and must not have previously been nominated for the award.

A player will be ineligible if they are suspended during the season.

Crows midfielder Ebony Marinoff was the first-ever winner of the women’s Rising Star award.
