The achievements of students completing the Indigenous Youth Leadership and Future Leaders Programs were celebrated recently through a special graduation ceremony held at Crows headquarters by the McLeod Centre of Excellence.
The McLeod Centre of Excellence (MCoE), run by Crows legend Andrew McLeod and his wife Rachael, has had a proud partnership with the Adelaide Football Club since 2012.
Since that time, the MCoE has delivered quality educational programs – including the Indigenous Youth Leadership and Future Leaders Programs – that provide young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in South Australia with a framework to increased opportunities in academic studies, leadership and mentoring support.
This helps facilitate SACE completion, providing improved pathways to employment and enabling students to be all they can be.
Over the past six years, approximately 240 students have participated in the MCoE’s suite of education programs, with 35 graduating this year.
Andrew McLeod said the team was honoured to recognise the achievements of all graduates with a formal ceremony.
“The event was a way to reflect on and celebrate the students’ continued commitment and accomplishments,” McLeod said.
“We’re extremely proud of all of the students who were part of the day, and of the results that continue to be achieved through our programs.
“This is the second year of our strong partnership with Carey Training, which is 100% Indigenous owned and operated, and we are grateful for Carey’s commitment to delivering quality education and training.”
