It was a very tough off-season for popular Crow Hugh Greenwood.

A Grand Final loss as well as the need for post-season Achilles surgery meant it was going to be a difficult start to 2018.

Above all of this, however, his mother ‘Onny’ passed away after a long fight with breast cancer.

Greenwood wouldn’t have been blamed for throwing in the towel, but in a sign of the strength of his character he pushed on.

On this Sunday’s episode of The Crows Show Greenwood reflects on his most difficult summer to date and explains his show of emotion during the Round One game against Essendon.

“It’s something I’d been thinking about for six months, you think about that moment and how you might react and what’s going to happen” Greenwood said.

“Mum’s greatest joy was watching her kids play sport and to be able to acknowledge her on that sort of stage was a pretty special moment.”

Also on the show, we find out what is happening at Adelaide Oval to ensure it remains one of the premier sporting stadiums in the world.

We catch up with Cam Ellis-Yolmen who tells us just how happy he is to be back playing footy after missing all of 2017 with a knee injury.

And the high-flying Jeremy Howe explains why he is so good at taking spectacular marks.
