In her first full season in the backline, Sarah Allan has won the Crows Women’s Best Defensive Player award.
Allan, 20, emerged as one of the AFLW’s most improved players.
A utility in Adelaide’s 2017 premiership, Allan not only settled but flourished in defence this season.
The cool-headed tall played every game, regularly standing the opposition’s best key forward.
She received a Rising Star nomination after collecting a career-high 11 disposals and four rebound 50ms against Fremantle at TIO Stadium in Round Six.
Allan led the League for spoils, one-percenters and ranked fourth for rebound 50ms level with Collingwood teenager and Rising Star favourite Chloe Molloy.
She also recorded the best disposal efficiency of any Crow to play every game this season.
From the Salisbury Football Club, Allan was recruited with pick No.122 in the inaugural AFLW Draft.
Her family, including Crows-listed younger sister Jess, hails from Millicent in the state’s south-east.
