Members of Adelaide’s AFLW squad will take part in three practice matches across the next month, as part of optional training ahead of the 2025 season kicking off in August.

The first of the three games will be played against Sydney at Tramway Oval, NSW, this Saturday, with 12 AFLW-listed squad members set to feature for the Crows, including recruits Hannah Ewings, India Rasheed, Georgia McKee, and Grace Kelly.

Crows AFLW Senior Coach Matthew Clarke said the game was an opportunity to fast-track the development of the side’s new and younger players.

“For some of our players who haven’t played a heap of footy over the past two years, it’s a chance for them to get valuable game time for their development,” Clarke said

“Also for those who are coming into our program for the first time, it’s an opportunity for them to play alongside their new teammates, get an understanding of how each other plays and how we want to play as a team.

“The AFLW season is really short, and therefore particularly for young players, the opportunity to get extra games in is really valuable.

“As I’ve highlighted, for those who haven’t played under our model, there are some slight nuances that they can start to get a bit of a head start on as we get into our pre-season.”

The Crows will later combine with Brisbane to face the Swans again, this time in Blacktown on April 26, before a final pre-pre season practice match against Sydney on May 3 in Adelaide.

Pre-season will then officially begin on Monday, May 19, ahead of the 2025 campaign kicking off in August, with the fixture set to be released in the coming months.

Adelaide’s first practice match against Sydney will be hosted at Tramway Oval, Moore Park, NSW, from 10.30am (ASDT).
