Richmond small forward Tyson Stengle is committed to becoming a Crow in 2019.

Adelaide list manager Justin Reid confirmed to Trade Radio on Wednesday morning the out-of-contract Tiger was seeking a trade home to South Australia after two years at Punt Road.

Reid said Stengle had chosen Adelaide as his club of choice.

"Young Tyson has probably lacked a bit of opportunity over the last few years given the strength of Richmond's list and their smalls," Reid said.

"Tyson adds a bit of speed and goal sense for us and with Eddie [Betts] getting a little bit older it's great to have a South Australian who wants to come home and be part of the Adelaide Football Club."

Drafted from Woodville West Torrens with pick No. 6 in the 2017 Rookie Draft, the 19-year-old played two games for the Tigers last year, booting two goals in his AFL debut against Port Adelaide.

This season, Stengle was unable to break into Richmond’s strong senior side despite kicking 33 goals in 19 games at VFL level to finish equal seventh in the League goal kicking.

Reid said he had already had 'some good conversations' with Richmond counterpart Blair Hartley which will continue when the AFL Trade Period officially commences on Monday, October 8.
