St Kilda youngster Jack Billings will need to prove his fitness on Thursday as he aims to return from an ankle issue in Sunday’s clash with Adelaide.
Billings, 20, missed the Saints’ 34-point win over Fremantle at Etihad Stadium last weekend and is St Kilda’s only injury concern heading into the clash at Adelaide Oval.
Fellow youngster Jimmy Webster has recovered from a virus that also forced him onto the sidelines last weekend and will be available for selection.
“He was a reasonably late withdrawal given he was sick from Thursday and he didn’t quite get up for the game. He’ll be okay to pick from for this week,” Saints GM of Football Performance Jamie Cox said.
Billings trained strongly on Tuesday, but will still need to convince Saints selectors during the club’s main session later in the week.
“Jack’s training really well, so whilst he’ll have to get through Thursday and train strongly, all indications are that he’ll be fine and back in the mix as well.
“Our injury list remains pretty strong…. We should have a pretty full list to pick from to go to Adelaide this week.”
St Kilda is yet to defeat the Crows at Adelaide Oval, with the Crows claiming the last five encounters between the two teams.
