It was a slow start to Shane McAdam’s first year at the Crows due to a calf injury sustained in the second SANFL trial match.

After a month on the sidelines, he made his Club debut in the SANFL in Round Five against Central District, kicking a goal.

McAdam’s speed and athleticism were often on display throughout the season, as he went on to kick 22 goals – the second most for the SANFL Crows in 2019, behind Tyson Stengle.

His season was interrupted again in Round 12 due to a hamstring complaint, but was able to return in time for finals.

That was lucky for the Crows, as McAdam had a significant impact in the three games on Adelaide Oval, kicking six goals.

Semi-Final v Norwood

While it took McAdam until the end of the second term to kick his first goal in the semi-final against Norwood, he had an impact much earlier in the match.

He helped get the ball inside 50 during the first two two terms, before some gut running into the goal square earned him his first major of the match.

McAdam marked strongly all game and went on to kick another two goals in the 62-point win over Norwood.

He finished the game with 12 disposals, eight marks, four inside 50s and two tackles alongside his three goals.
