Adelaide forward Taylor Walker has expressed his joy for Rory and Belinda Sloane following the birth of their baby boy, Sonny.
Earlier this month, Walker announced his wife Ellie was pregnant and that the pair were expecting in November.
Speaking on Triple M’s The Rush Hour, Walker admitted seeing teammate Sloane with Sonny “made him a bit nervous”.
“Ellie and I went in and visited the Sloanes yesterday,” Walker said.
“I was a bit emotional for them… I got a little hold of Sonny, bloody cute little boy, looks very much like Rory.
“Sonny Leo, what a great name.
“Hopefully, whether we have a boy or girl, they can grow up and run amok together.”
On Wednesday, Adelaide announced its coaching selection panel tasked with replacing Don Pyke.
Walker said a variety of solutions were being considered and that the panel will “sort that out in due course”.
Regarding the last two seasons, the 29-year-old denied claims the years were a “waste”.
“I wouldn’t say it (the past two years) was wasted,” Walker said.
“Chayce Jones has developed, Darcy Fogarty, Himmelberg… clearly as a club we’ve made a decision to ignite a few young guys and change the list.
“But in life, it’s never as good as it seems or as bad as it seems.
“We’ve learnt a fair bit as a club and given opportunities to young guys… that’s the way we’re going and I look forward to it.”
