Round Eight v Port Adelaide
Adelaide claimed Showdown 46 with a 20-point win over its cross-town rivals, but a late Port Adelaide comeback in the fourth quarter had fans on edge.
If not for Laird’s efforts throughout the game, the final margin could well have tipped in Port Adelaide’s favour.
The Crows’ No. 29 finished the match with 31 touches, eight inside-50s, six rebound-50s and 14 contested possessions.
The South Australian native was also instrumental in setting up Tom Lynch’s opening goal of the final term.
