The Eagles stretched their winning streak to six games with a dour 17-point win over Sturt in the SANFL on Sunday.
There were only nine goals kicked in the game but key forward Michael Wundke kicked four for the home side, which restricted Sturt to its lowest score against the Club in 25 seasons.
Former Crow Jared Petrenko (21 disposals) starred for the Eagles, who sit one win behind ladder leader Norwood but have a game in hand and a better percentage.
Norwood had to fight to overcome North Adelaide at Prospect on Saturday. The home side led by 15 points at the first change and then five points at half-time but the Redlegs kicked three goals clear at the last break.
North hit back, however, and regained the lead late in the last term only for Norwood to respond through Kane Murphy and eventually win by six points.
Adelaide is still searching for its first win after its 20-point loss to Central District at Elizabeth on Saturday.
Port Adelaide dominated bottom side Glenelg in the first half at Alberton on Sunday but had its seven-goal lead cut back to eight points by the fast-finishing Tigers.
On Friday night, West Adelaide trailed South Adelaide for most of the game but added five goals in the last term to turn a 23-point deficit into a one-point win.
Jono Beech put West in front but South forward Brett Eddy had a chance to win the game, his long shot missing on the siren.
