Adelaide is flexible with its approach to “top-up” players required for its support side in the SANFL competition if approved for next season.
Crows chairman Rob Chapman said Adelaide would continue to listen to feedback from the SANFL clubs to develop a suitable model.
“If the top-up players are an issue for the clubs, let’s sit down and sort it out,” he said.
“We want this relationship to work, for the benefit of the SANFL clubs and the competition.
“The Adelaide Football Club was created by the SANFL and its clubs 23 years ago and we see no reason why we can’t continue to have a prosperous and successful relationship.
“We have enormous respect for the SANFL competition and strongly believe there are many benefits for all of us by having our support team playing against the league clubs.”
The SA Football Commission on Tuesday night endorsed a proposal for AFL reserves teams in the SANFL league competition.
SANFL club directors have taken this information back to their boards and members.
Adelaide is seeking unanimous club support for its entry but has ruled out playing in the SANFL reserves next season.
