The 34th edition of the Club Champion will be hosted on Saturday night.

The winner of Adelaide’s highest individual award will receive the Malcolm Blight Medal, named after the Club’s two-time Premiership coach.

As the Club prepares to come together and reflect on the season that was, AFC Media has put together a guide of everything you need to know ahead of the night. 

Start time

The Club Champion count will start at 7pm.

Adelaide’s players will begin arriving from 6.30pm and the coverage will kick off on the Club’s social media platforms.

How to watch

A livestream of the Malcolm Blight winner being crowned will be available for Members and fans to watch, beginning at 10pm (ACST) on afc.com.au.

Ongoing coverage of the night, including award winners, will be shared on AFC socials. 

The voting process

The Malcolm Blight Medallist is determined by coaches rating every player with a score from 1-10 after every game.

Captain Jordan Dawson is the reigning Malcolm Blight Medallist, having won the award after an outstanding first season as Skipper. He polled 132 votes, ahead of Rory Laird (115).

Other awards

A range of other awards will also be presented on the night.

They include:

Leading Goal Kicker - presented to the player who has booted the most goals during the AFL minor rounds.

Phil Walsh Best Team Man - recognising the most selfless player, who lives and breathes ‘team first’ who does everything for the team.

Players' Trademark Award (Previously Chelsea Phillis Coaches' Award) - voted on by the players, as well as the coaches. Presented to the player who embodied the players’ trademark throughout the season.

The Mark Bickley Emerging Talent Award - recognises the outstanding achievement and contribution of a young Crows player.

19th Man Award/ Members’ Most Valuable Player - voted on by the Club’s Members.

Dr Brian Sando OAM Trophy - introduced in 2012 in memory of inaugural Crows Club doctor and Life Member Dr Brian Sando OAM. It recognises outstanding and professional attention to detail in the preparation for being an AFL footballer.

State League Club Champion - introduced when the Club entered the SANFL in 2014.

The Dean Bailey Award - recognises the Club's most impressive SANFL development player based on performance, dedication to training and commitment to the team.

Adelaide Crows Foundation Community Leadership Award - established in 2015 to acknowledge players’ exceptional contributions to the community.
