Adelaide has added four players to its extended squad for its clash against Brisbane on Sunday afternoon.

The Crows have named Abbie Ballard, Deni Varnhagen, Brooke Boileau and Keeley Kustermann to the extended interchange, as the side looks to claim a fifth-straight win.

Brooke Smith comes out of the side that beat Essendon last week after injuring her collarbone.

If selected, Ballard, meanwhile, could play her first AFLW game in her comeback from an ACL injury sustained last year.

“Abbie is coming back from a knee injury and she played three quarters in our scrimmage game two weeks ago, and a full game last week,” Adelaide Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said.

“She’s done everything right and has well and truly put her hand up for selection, as long as she gets through training on Friday.”

Harper said he had confidence in the Crows’ depth, and selection pressure was a positive.

“Keeley played really well in our first three games and injured her ankle, which caused her to miss last week, but we know how skilful she is,” Harper said.

“Deni has been really consistent, whether that’s been in our AFLW team or in the scrimmages, as has Jess Waterhouse.

“Brooke is a first-year player and she’s definitely trending in the right direction.”

Adelaide will name its final team on Friday at 4.30pm.

The Crows play the Lions at Brighton Homes Arena, Queensland, on Sunday at 2.35pm (ACST).
