Adelaide High Performance Manager Darren Burgess has provided the following post-season injury update.
Forward Darcy Fogarty will undergo a knee arthroscope and be on light duties for three weeks before resuming running this off-season.
Fogarty will have the procedure after finishing the season as Adelaide’s leading goal kicker with 41 goals from 23 games.
“He will have an arthroscope and a minor clean up,” Burgess said.
“It was an accumulation injury that he was able to play through during the year, and now is a good opportunity to address it and ensure he is ready to go for the start of pre-season training.
“We expect Darcy to be off legs for three weeks after his operation and then returning to running after that.”
Defender Jordon Butts will have a delayed start to pre-season as he recovers from Lisfranc surgery.
“Jordon has been working hard in the gym and his rehab is progressing well but the nature of his foot injury and the surgery means we don’t expect him to be training fully until after Christmas,” Burgess said.
Brayden Cook is doing off-legs training while recovering from a foot injury he suffered in the SANFL but is expected to be fully fit for the start of pre-season training on November 25.
Izak Rankine continues to progress through the AFL’s concussion protocols after being injured in Round 23, returning to running and reporting no symptoms.
