Key forward Taylor Walker is a chance to return from an eye injury for Adelaide’s final game of the season against Sydney on Saturday night.

Walker missed the Round 23 Showdown after undergoing laser eye surgery following the Crows’ win over the Western Bulldogs.

“Tex has been able to train which is great and has done plenty of running and movement so he will see the eye specialist today to get clearance, but at this stage we think he will be available to play,” High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.

Unfortunately Brayden Cook’s season is over after injuring his foot in the SANFL win over Port Adelaide on the weekend.

“Cooky hurt his foot in the goal square on the weekend, there is no surgery required, but he has a reasonably minor foot injury,” Burgess said.

Midfielder/forward Izak Rankine is in the AFL’s concussion protocol and will miss this week’s game

“Izak is at home recovering, he’s still got some minor symptoms, he’s in the hands of the doctors here and we’ll continue to monitor him,” Burgess said.

“He’s in the concussion protocols but obviously will miss this weekend.”

Burgess said Himmelberg missed last weekend with a virus but is expected to train on Wednesday, and Schoenberg had been managing a foot issue but scans had cleared him of significant damage and it’s hoped he will train and be available for selection this weekend.
