Adelaide captain Nathan van Berlo, subbed out of Sunday’s Balfours Showdown with a corked thigh, hopes to recover in time to lead the team against unbeaten Sydney on Saturday night.

Jason Porplyzia (deltoid strain) and Sam Shaw (hamstring tightness), who were both pulled out of the Showdown, also are a chance to be available for the Crows’ first game at the SCG for nearly four years.

The most serious injury from the weekend was suffered by Aidan Riley, who fractured his left hand in the SANFL on Friday night. He will be out for about three weeks.

Bernie Vince (broken hand) and Richard Douglas (hamstring) are still aiming for a round eight return but Chris Knights (adductor) and Richard  Tambling (concussion) should return to the SANFL this weekend.

Adelaide has a light session on Tuesday morning from about 10am and then a closed main session on Wednesday.

The Crows will also have a light run on the SCG on Friday from about 3.15pm.
