Adelaide wingman Lachie Sholl says the squad is focusing on building positive momentum in the second half of the season, following the Club’s mid-season bye.

The Crows will return to action when they play GWS at Adelaide Oval this Saturday night, after being one of six teams to be involved in the last bye week for the minor round.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Sholl said the break had allowed players to freshen up and set goals for the remainder of 2024.

“First of all, with the bye, it’s good to rest up and have a think about how we want to attack the last half of the year,” Sholl said.

“For us it’s about ironing out any crevasses and try to continually bring consistency with our performance.

“We are just worried about what we’re doing in here and trying to attack each day, training well, preparing well and doing that as best as we can.

“A couple of weeks ago against the Swans, we put together some really good patches of footy against them and showed we can match it, but (it’s about) trying to continue to keep that consistency going.”

Sholl is enjoying a solid campaign, averaging 21.4 disposals and 5.6 marks across 11 games, to go with eight goals.

The 24-year-old said remaining “level” with whatever situation was thrown at him and a team-first attitude were the catalysts behind his form.

“Nothing has really changed in terms of a holistic thing for me, individually, (and) I don’t want to keep boring you, but it is really about playing your role and continuing to come back to that and do what’s best for the team,” Sholl said.

“Being able to get on the scoreboard a little bit more is nice but it's definitely more so about playing my role and making sure I am doing everything possible to help the team win.

“Consistency can help but I think just staying level and whether it’s at AFL or SANFL, just being able to come back to what I need to do to help the team.

“The ability to stay level with that has provided that confidence to continue to do that.”

The Crows will enter the game against the Giants hoping to snap a three-game losing streak and Sholl said the squad is up for the challenge.

“They’re (GWS) a super side, they’re in really good form again this year and they are a tough opponent,” Sholl said.

“It will be difficult and they are a quality opposition, very skilful, so it will be a tough game but we are really looking forward to it.”

Adelaide plays GWS at Adelaide Oval on Saturday at 7pm.
