Kuwarna will be boosted by the return of AFL-listed defender Nick Murray for its State League match against West Adelaide on Saturday afternoon.

As announced by the Club on Tuesday, Murray will make his return from a knee reconstruction in the SANFL this weekend.

The backman has not played since rupturing his left anterior cruciate ligament against Melbourne at the MCG in Round 19 last year.

He will don the tri colours alongside his brother, Toby Murray, for the first time, with the forward also named in the SANFL line-up.

It will cap a big week for the Murray family after the Club selected Toby, who was already on its SANFL list, at the mid-season rookie draft on Tuesday night.

Toby said he was looking forward to lining up alongside his older brother.

“It will be pretty special,” Toby said.

“I don’t think we’ve played together since we were 12 or 13 years old.

“To play together in a League like this on this occasion will be very special and something the family will look at very proudly.”

The match will mark the second week of the SANFL’s First Nations Round, celebrating the contribution of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island players.

The Club will, however, revert back to its traditional red guernsey design to avoid a clash with West Adelaide.

Midfielders Hugh Bond, Zac Taylor, Irishman Karl Gallagher, forward Luke Pedlar and defenders Oscar Ryan and Dan Curtin are among the AFL-listed players included in the side.

Pedlar will play a second consecutive SANFL game as he continues to navigate his way back from a shoulder injury.

SANFL Skipper Jack Madgen returns to the line-up after missing last week due to concussion, while Stephen Tahana, Jarman Sigal, Hugh Haysman, Jay Boyle, Harry Boyle and Steve Burton are among the development players listed.

AFL Emergencies are yet to be added to the side.

Kuwarna take on the Bloods at Richmond Oval on Saturday at 2.10pm.
