Adelaide forward Izak Rankine has received a Round Eight AFL Goal of the Year nomination.
The 24-year-old was recognised for his effort late in the fourth quarter, where he gathered the ball on the western wing.
Using his speed, Rankine successfully broke the tackle of Port Adelaide’s Dan Houston, and streamed towards goal.
Composing himself with a bounce, he quickly sized up the goals and had a shot from 50, with the ball bouncing right before the line and trickling through for a major.
The goal was Rankine’s third for the evening, and extended Adelaide’s margin to 30 points with just 45 seconds remaining.

Voting closes on Thursday, May 9 at 9.30am ACST.
