Crows forward Taylor Walker has taken part in a post-game guernsey exchange with Geelong veteran Tom Hawkins.
After the match at Adelaide Oval on Friday night, Walker reached out to friends at Geelong and was able to orchestrate a signed guernsey from one of the game’s all-time great forwards.
“Tomahawk is one of my favourite players, and I was very grateful to swap with Hawk,” Walker told Triple M’s Roo, Ditts & Loz on Tuesday morning.
“I love Hawk, I’ve always idolised him.
“He signed it and gave it to one of the boys to give to me.”
Adelaide will be looking to bounce back quickly following a disappointing result against the Cats on Friday night.
“We kicked ourselves in the foot a bit… On Friday night we were fundamentally poor and almost hurt ourselves,” Walker said.
“I look at the scope of the year and we’ve only played two games, but you don’t want to continue this form.
“We’ll work on a few things and try and fix it straight away.”
Looking ahead to Fremantle on Good Friday, Walker said the Crows would need an answer for the Dockers’ midfielders.
“Their mids are in good form,” he said.
“We need to win the contested footy a lot and try and get forward to play some Crows footy.
“It’s going to be a good game on the road, and Brodie Smith’s 250th as well.”
Adelaide will face Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Friday at 7pm ACDT (4.30pm local).
The game will be live on Channel 7 in Adelaide and nationwide on Fox Footy and Kayo.
