Adelaide forward Izak Rankine has received a Round Two AFL Goal of the Year nomination.

The 23-year-old was recognised for his effort in the dying stages of the match, where he received a handball on the half-forward flank.

Collecting the Sherrin at full speed and heading for the boundary, Rankine then composed himself and sent the ball goalwards, and it floated through the big sticks.

The goal was Rankine’s second of the evening, while he also collected 16 disposals.
