Sam Shaw has removed his name from the Club’s injury list, re-joining the main training group.
Shaw has been on a modified program since Christmas because of knee soreness. The 21-year-old defender broke into the Crows team last season, playing 14 games and earning a NAB Rising Star nomination for his performance against the Brisbane Lions in round 21.
Jared Petrenko won’t play in Adelaide’s second-round NAB Cup clash with Geelong on Saturday, but is nearing a return from shoulder surgery. Brodie Smith (collarbone), who will miss another seven weeks, and Nick Joyce (groin) are the only players not in full training.
Scott Thompson, Brent Reilly, Ben Rutten, Sam Jacobs, Jason Porplyzia, Graham Johncock, Richard Douglas and David Mackay all sat out Saturday’s trial win over Fremantle and are in line to be recalled this week.
Clubs can name teams of 24 (18 starting, three interchange and three substitutes) in the second and third rounds of the NAB Cup. The AFL will also trial an interchange cap, with sides limited to 20 interchanges per quarter.
Adelaide’s takes on Geelong at 2:10pm (SA time) on Saturday. The game will be televised on Fox Footy from 2:00pm (SA time).
The Club will return to AAMI Stadium to play Carlton in round three of the NAB Cup on Friday, March 8. Buy tickets to the 8:10pm (SA time) clash here.
