The Adelaide Football Club can confirm Sam Jacobs has signed a three-year contract extension.
Jacobs, 24, was recruited by Adelaide in the 2009 trade period after playing 17 games in three seasons with Carlton.
The 202cm South Australian has established himself as one of the elite ruckmen of the competition, highlighted by his 2012 All-Australian team nomination. Jacobs has played 43 games for the Crows and has been elevated to the Club’s leadership group for season 2013.
Crows acting football operations general manager David Noble said it was fantastic to secure a player of Jacobs’ quality until the end of 2016.
“Sam has been a fantastic player for us since returning home,” he said.
“He loves the Adelaide Football Club and will certainly be an integral player for the Club in the future years. His elevation into the leadership group has also highlighted his standing within the playing group.”
