Wingman Brodie Martin is expected to be available for selection this week.

Martin was a late withdrawal from Adelaide’s Round 18 clash with Sydney, and also sat out the game against Richmond on Friday night because of illness.

Crows Head of Football David Noble said the 26-year-old hoped to increase his training load with the aim of being fit to play this week.

“Brodie hasn’t been all that well, unfortunately. He’s been ill and at home,” Noble said.

“We’re monitoring him as we go. Hopefully, he’ll be back at the Club this week and we’ve got him down as a ‘test’.”

Four other young Crows will also face fitness tests. Harrison Wigg (hamstring tightness), Sam Siggins (wrist) and Keenan Ramsey (knee) were all left out of Adelaide’s SANFL clash with South Adelaide with minor injury concerns, while forward Harry Dear rolled his ankle in his first game back from a shoulder injury.

Midfielder Richard Douglas is tipped to miss another fortnight after having his appendix removed last Monday night.

Douglas was able to attend Friday night’s game against Richmond at Adelaide Oval, but his training will be limited over the next week as he continues to recover from surgery.

“Dougy’s been around the Club today, but it’s probably a 2-3 week injury,” Noble said.

“His health is, obviously, paramount, so we’ll just take it as it comes over the next couple of weeks.”

Pleasingly, the Crows reported no new injuries at AFL level in Round 19.

As announced last week, Brad Crouch (foot) and also defender Matt Jaensch (knee) will miss the remainder of the season through injury.
