Taylor Walker’s one-hander against the Tigers is among the AFL’s Round 19 Mark of the Year nominations.

The Crows skipper claimed the mark after leading hard towards the boundary line early in the second quarter of Adelaide’s Friday night clash with Richmond.

Rory Atkins delivered the ball nicely on the Eastern wing of Adelaide Oval, but Tex had All Australian defender Alex Rance hot on his heels. In a great show of strength and footy smarts, Walker used his left arm to keep Rance at bay before taking the ball on his right just inches inside the field of play.

Walker finished the match with a game-high 10 marks and was one of four Crows to kick two goals in the win over the Tigers.

It is the second time this season that Tex has been nominated for the AFL Mark of the Year. He won the weekly vote in Round Six for a huge hanger at Metricon Stadium against the Gold Coast Suns.

Eddie Betts is also in the running for the major prize, after earning the nod for his fly in the goalsquare against St Kilda in Round Seven.

Nathan van Berlo, Kyle Cheney and David Mackay have also received Mark of the Year nominations but failed to progress beyond the weekly vote.

RAA Marks of the Week: Round 19

Fans can vote for their weekly winner as many times as they like, but only once per 24 hours.

Supporters go into the running for a weekly cash prize of $200 and the major cash prize of $5000 just for voting, thanks to Weet-Bix and Coates Hire.

Weekly nominees are selected by the AFL Media editorial team and the weekly winners will be determined by public voting. Voting opens 12pm each round the day after the last game and will close the night before commencement of the next round (exact days of the week may change depending on fixture).

At the conclusion of the home and away season, the All-Australian Selection Committee shall select the three best goals and marks from the 23 weekly selections.

The top three selections for the Weet-Bix Mark of the Year and Coates Hire Goal of the Year will be placed on www.afl.com.au on September 14. The overall winners will be selected by public voting which will close on September 24.

The Weet-Bix Mark of the Year and Coates Hire Goal of the Year will be announced prior to the 2015 Toyota AFL Grand Final.
