Adelaide forwards Eloise Jones and Caitlin Gould have received Mark and Goal of the Year nominations, respectively, following Sunday’s win over Gold Coast at Unley Oval.
Jones, who took out mark of the week honours last week, backed up her effort in Round Five with another incredible grab against the Suns.
Isolated in a one-on-one contest deep in the Crows’ forward 50, the 23-year-old engaged her defender before cleverley sticking out an arm and bringing in a one-handed mark.
The grab highlighted another excellent day for Jones, who booted two goals and finished with four marks as a focal point in Adelaide’s attack.
Gould was recognised for a brilliant individual effort in the opening term.
After booting the opening goal of the match and setting up the second, the key forward quickly found herself in the action again as the ball fell 25 metres out from the Crows goal.
Picking up the ball cleanly, she rolled onto her right boot to have a shot before being confronted by a Suns defender, who she cleverley evaded.
The 24-year-old then showed her class with an excellent finish on the outside of the boot.
Vote for Jones here, and Gould here.
Round Five voting closes on Thursday, October 5 at 9.30am (ACDT).
