Crows veteran Richard Douglas has been included in the AFL’s Team of the Week for the first time this season.

Douglas, 30, was recognised after booting a career-best four goals in Adelaide’s 21-point win over Geelong last Friday night.

The 2010 Club Champion collected 20 possessions, laid five tackles and had three clearances in an inspired performance against the Cats to be named at half-forward in the Round 18 Team of the Week.

By the numbers: Round 18

A further two Crows also feature in this week’s side, making it the third round in a row that three Crows have earned Team of the Week spots.

Ruckman Sam Jacobs appears for the first time since Round Six following his huge effort against Geelong’s three-pronged ruck battery.

Jacobs amassed a game-high 32 hit-outs, but also contributed around the ground with seven marks and four inside 50ms from his 17 disposals. It’s the third time this year Jacobs has been named in the AFL’s Team of the Week.

Onballer Rory Sloane also returned to the team after his best-on-ground display against the Cats.

The courageous midfielder was influential in Adelaide’s victory with 28 possessions, seven clearances, seven tackles and an equal career-best three goals in a complete performance.

It’s Sloane’s seventh Team of the Week start of 2017 – the most of any Crow this season.

Adelaide was the only Club to have three representatives feature in the Round 18 Team of the Week. Collingwood, Brisbane, Melbourne, Richmond, Sydney and Greater Western Sydney had two players included ahead of Geelong, Hawthorn, West Coast, Essendon, North Melbourne, the Western Bulldogs and Port Adelaide with one player each.
