Crows Chief Operating Officer Nigel Smart reached the pinnacle of the AFL with his two premierships in 1997 and 1998 and now, close to 20 years on, he is aiming to reach new sporting heights.

Smart is looking to climb about 5600m, to be exact, as he takes on Mt Everest Base Camp in support of the Crows Children’s Foundation.

Departing on October 23, Smart will co-host the trek with Foundation Board member and Paralympic gold medalist Katrina Webb – and the two are looking for 28 adventurers to join them.

Each trekker is asked to raise a minimum of $1,000 to support to Crows Children’s Foundation and the people of Nepal, who are still reeling from the 2015 earthquake which killed over 8,000 people.

This trek is probably one of the most famous in the world, and with good reason.

The journey from Nepal’s vibrant capital, Kathmandu, via twin-engine plane to Lukla and on to the very heart of the Nepali Himalaya is simply spectacular.

Majestic snow-capped peaks line the steep sided valleys and jaw-dropping views await you at almost every turn. The beauty of the scenery is matched only by the famous warmth and hospitality of the Nepalese who will be looking after you throughout your trip.

The trek is fully hosted by Charity Expedition Nepal and costs include all transfers, meals and accommodation.

Always had it on your bucket list? Always wanted to see Everest? Well now is your chance, while supporting a great cause at the same time.
