Adelaide and Collingwood have gone head-to-head 48 times and there have been many close encounters.

Crows survive against fast finishing Pies - Round One, 2009
In Round One, 2009, Adelaide survived a second-half comeback from Collingwood to kick start its 2009 AFL campaign.
The Crows were quick out of the blocks, kicking five, first quarter goals to lead by 23 points at the first break.
Following a back and forth second quarter, Collingwood came out motivated in the third term, kicking five unanswered goals to lead by 18 points.
The Crows were able to respond, booting the last three majors of the third, levelling the scores heading into the final term.
The Pies had plenty of opportunities at the start of the fourth quarter, but accuracy cost them, while Adelaide capitalised on its opportunities and claimed a four-point win.
Andrew McLeod led the game in disposals with 30 touches, along with five inside 50s, while Scott Stevens booted three goals and took six marks.
Draw on the siren - Round 19, 2017
In Round 19, 2017, Adelaide drew the second game in the club’s history, thanks to a goal after the siren from former Crow Mitch McGovern.
Adelaide trailed by as much as 50 points early in the third quarter however, mounted a sensational comeback with McGovern booting three goals during the term.
The Crows reduced the margin to just three points early in the fourth quarter but looked to have run out of gas after the Pies responded with three-straight majors to take back a 21-point lead.
The Crows mounted another comeback, kicking three goals, while having some luck on their side with Collingwood struggling to convert, hitting the post twice during the final 10 minutes.
Down by six points and with just seconds remaining, Adelaide had one last roll of the dice launching the ball to the top of the square with McGovern flying above the rest to take a contested mark. The then 23-year-old went back and kicked truly as the siren sounded to bring the scores level to conclude an exciting game.
On-baller Matt Crouch was amongst Adelaide’s bests amassing 36 disposals, 10 tackles and nine clearances, while Brodie Smith had 26 disposals, eight marks and 651 metres-gained.
Adelaide flips the script – Round Nine, 2014
In Round Nine, 2014, a young Adelaide side flexed its muscles in the second half to defeat Collingwood by 21 points.
The Pies entered the match on a four-game win streak and looked strong early, kicking four of the first five goals.
Despite Collingwood’s early success, Adelaide went into the half-time break down by one goal, thanks to former Crows forward, Josh Jenkins, who kicked three of the Club's five first-half goals.
In the second half Adelaide upped the pressure, allowing Collingwood to record just one goal in the final two quarters.
Midfielder Rory Sloane brought the pressure finishing with 24 disposals, eight tackles and seven score involvements, while former Crow Patrick Dangerfield had 32 touches, 12 clearances and 669 metres-gained.
McLeod saves the day – Round 2, 2005
In Round Two, 2005, Adelaide won a thriller against Collingwood, leaving it until late in the game to seal the win by a goal.
It was a closely contested contest through the first three quarters and both sides had their opportunities however, Adelaide was the slightly more clinical side and led at the end of each break.
Trailing by three-points to start the fourth quarter, then Collingwood player Blake Caracella gave the Pies their first lead since the 14-minute mark of the first quarter, booting two goals.
Collingwood remained in front for much of the quarter, before an Ian Perrie goal levelled the scores with eight minutes left in the game.
Needing something special to win, former Crow Andrew McLeod stepped up, slotting the decisive goal with a spectacular shot on the run from 45m out along the boundary, giving Adelaide a six-point lead.
McLeod capped a big performance with four goals and 20 disposals, while Mark Ricciuto amassed 28 touches and seven inside 50s.
Crows swoop Pies – Round 21, 2005
In Round 21, 2005, Adelaide recorded its biggest win against Collingwood, thumping them by 110 points at what was then known ad Footy Park.
It was one way traffic early and the Crows recorded 13 scoring shots in the first quarter, compared with three to the Pies.
Adelaide then kept the visitors goalless in the second quarter, while kicking six.
The Crows did not slow down in the second half, outscoring Collingwood 79 to 25, which included keeping them goalless again in the final term.
Former Crows forward Trent Hentschel was a handful for the Pies defenders kicking 5.5, to go along with 16 touches.
Scott Thompson was also handy, collecting 26 disposals, nine marks, eight inside 50s and booting two majors.
