Reigning Club Champion Scott Thompson was adjudged the best Crow on the ground in Adelaide’s narrow loss to West Coast at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night.

Thompson received three votes from coaches Brenton Sanderson and John Worsfold. The All Australian onballer amassed 28 possessions (17 contested), seven clearances and five tackles.

Defender Andy Otten, who kept Eagles star Jack Darling goalless and to a career-low three disposals, collected two votes. For the second straight week, young Crow Brad Crouch (one vote) earned recognition from the coaches.

Four-goal hero Josh Kennedy, who kicked the match winner, received maximum (10) votes. Clearance king Matt Priddis was awarded seven votes and Chris Masten four.

Patrick Dangerfield didn’t receive a vote on Saturday night, but remains in third place on the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award on 57 votes. Gold Coast captain Gary Ablett (75 votes), who didn’t play on the weekend because of a calf injury, is outright first ahead of Sydney co-captain Kieren Jack on 62 votes.
