Richard Douglas has accepted a $1,000 sanction for engaging in rough conduct against Gold Coast midfielder Matt Shaw.

The incident occurred in the first quarter of the Round 17 match between the Crows and Suns at Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Gold Coast Suns Football Club, it was the view of the panel the incident should be classified as careless conduct with low impact to the head. This offence was classified as a $1,500 sanction. An early plea reduced the penalty to a $1,000 sanction.

This was the only incident in the match that drew the attention of the Match Review Panel.
