Adelaide and Collingwood have played 47 times, and the Magpies hold the advantage in the head-to-head ledger with 31 wins, one draw and 15 losses.

The Magpies have had plenty of success against the Crows in recent times, winning the past five games.

The last time the teams met was in Round 18, 2022, where Collingwood held on late to defeat Adelaide by five points.

Magpies midfielder Scott Pendlebury celebrated his 350th game during that clash and finished with 29 disposals, 12 tackles and a goal.

Crows forward Taylor Walker did all he could to try and get Adelaide over the line, booting five goals – including two in the fourth quarter.

Three-time Adelaide Club Champion Rory Laird left his mark on the contest, setting a new AFL record for tackles in a game with 20.

He was well supported by teammate, Sam Berry, who amassed 17 tackles and tied for the fourth most in AFL history.

Collingwood is one of two clubs that Adelaide has recorded a draw against (the other being St Kilda). The two sides drew in Round 19, 2017, following a Mitch McGovern goal after the siren.

The Crows’ biggest margin of victory against Collingwood occurred in Round 21, 2005, when they won by 110-points.

Forward Trent Hentschel kicked five goals, while Ian Perrie and Scott Welsh booted three each.

Adelaide and Collingwood have had multiple close battles over the years, with 15 of the 47 games being decided by a goal or less.

In the past five meetings between the two teams, defender Brodie Smith has played a big part in helping Adelaide move the ball forward, averaging 25 disposals and 647.4 metres-gained.

Laird has led by example in his past five games against the Magpies, averaging 33.6 disposals, 7.4 tackles and 5.8 clearances.

Collingwood forward Jamie Elliott has been dangerous in front of goals, averaging 3.3 majors a game against Adelaide since 2019.

Meanwhile, Collingwood midfielder Jack Crisp has been influential in his past five games against the Crows averaging 25.2 disposals, 5.6 tackles and 4.4 inside 50’s.

On Sunday afternoon it will take a whole team effort from Adelaide to limit the impact of Collingwood star Nick Daicos, who is yet to amass less than 30 touches in a game this season.

Daicos is coming off back-to-back 40 disposal-games and, last round, won the ANZAC Medal after being named best on ground.

For Collingwood, its key defenders will have their hands full slowing down Adelaide forward Darcy Fogarty, who kicked the match-winning goal last round against Hawthorn.

Fogarty is averaging 3.3 goals and 7.8 score involvements a game this season.

If Adelaide wins, it will be the team’s fifth, consecutive victory of the season.

If the Crows win by a margin of nine or more points they will jump ahead of Collingwood on the AFL ladder, with a better percentage.
