Adelaide forward Darcy Fogarty has resumed running as he eyes a return from a knee injury he suffered in Round Two.
Fogarty missed Saturday’s Showdown win over Port Adelaide and may also be sidelined for this weekend’s clash with Fremantle, however is showing positive signs in his recovery.
“Fog is running and we expect him to run again on Wednesday,” Crows High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.
“Everything would have to go right for him to be available this week, but if not this week, then we expect him to train next week and be available for Round Five.
“He’s been doing a fair bit of off-legs conditioning until Monday when he was able to get a fair bit of running in. We expect the same again Wednesday, he’s moving really well and is happy with how it’s progressing.”
Midfielder Sam Berry was subbed out of the Showdown in the third quarter with a calf complaint and will be tested at training this week.
“He’s got a minor calf issue and we expect he will train later this week and hopefully be available for the weekend,” Burgess said.
Defender Patrick Parnell will miss a second consecutive game while in the AFL’s concussion protocol.
“He’s still got a couple of boxes to tick, the timing means he will miss this weekend’s game and come out of the protocols on Sunday and be available next week all going well,” Burgess said.
Josh Worrell is nearing a return from a hamstring injury but draftee Hugh Bond has suffered a minor knee fracture following an incident in Saturday’s SANFL win over Port Adelaide and a timeline for his return will be known later this week.
“Josh is training really hard, he’s doing a lot of kilometres to build up some resilience in his body,” Burgess said.
“We expect he will be fully training next week and the week after and be playing in AFL Round Six.”
