Adelaide footy fans and Crows Members are in for a four-day feast when SA hosts the AFL’s inaugural festival of footy next April.
The footy-loving state has beaten NSW in a bid to host the special event which will feature all 18 teams playing in SA from Thursday, April 13 through to Sunday, April 16.
The festival will take place in Round Five with match ups, timings and venues to be confirmed in the 2023 AFL Fixture later this month.
Entry to competing club matches will be free for all Club and AFL Members with further ticketing details set to come with the final fixture.
Crows CEO Tim Silvers described the announcement as a significant win for South Australia, with the clubs and football community having the chance to set a high standard in hosting the inaugural event.
“We know how passionate Crows fans are about their footy and that enthusiasm extends right across the state from grass roots and community to the elite level,” Silvers said.
“Having the opportunity to attend not just one but up to nine games across the round is a great celebration of our competition and the sport.
“There’s upside for our Members who get the opportunity to attend a 12th home game, or you could call it a bonus game, as part of their existing membership packages.
“The benefits will be far reaching and in particular the economic upside, with local businesses and hotels in and around the city and regional areas sure to benefit as well.
“Our whole club, and no doubt our Members and supporters, will get right behind this concept.”
